A learner profile would guide educational adjustments. It would not diagnose dyslexia, ADHD or another condition.
FOR PARENTS, CARERS & LEARNERS
FIXSTEM’s vision is to make science practicals feel more familiar—and to give families a clear picture of what to celebrate and what to practise next.

LESS GUESSWORK AT HOME
A planned pre-practical pack would let your child meet the equipment, words and sequence before the lesson. They could use visual steps or spoken instructions where helpful.
Afterwards, a family view would explain the learner’s progress in plain language, aligned with the school’s next learning goal.
There is no need to run a school experiment at home. Preparation and discussion should support the supervised practical.
Your child recorded two current measurements and explained the pattern.
They used the results table to organise their observations.
Ask: “Why would a scientist repeat a measurement?” Encourage an explanation in their own words.
Practise explaining how to improve the method.
ACCESS COMES FIRST
The first focus is specific learning difficulties, especially dyslexia. Broader support for other learner needs is a longer-term direction to develop with specialists.
A learner profile would guide educational adjustments. It would not diagnose dyslexia, ADHD or another condition.
A readiness difficulty should lead to help from school. Digital checks should not become an automatic barrier to participation.
Mobile-friendly preparation, school-supported access and printable alternatives are design priorities for the pilot.
