“Record and explain” is a bottleneck.

FOR INVESTORS & STRATEGIC PARTNERS
Build the connection between accessible preparation, practical participation and evidence of learning. Start with SpLD learners in secondary science. Earn the right to expand.

THE INVESTMENT THESIS
Schools already use simulations, assistive technology, revision tools and staff-led adjustments. FIXSTEM’s proposed differentiation is the workflow connecting them to one learner’s real practical lesson.
A teacher-reviewed profile informs preparation and in-lab scaffolds. The learner’s work then feeds into a shared portfolio and the next teaching decision. The proposition needs to prove both educational value and a workable place in school routines.
EARLY SIGNALS, CLEAR NEXT TESTS
The application describes qualitative discovery: lesson observation, five teaching sessions, and conversations with teachers, a TA, a SENCo and parents. These inform the problem definition; they are not evidence of product efficacy.
Early discovery highlighted sequencing, vocabulary and turning observations into written explanations.
Observe readiness, time to first action, adult prompting, writing quality and learner confidence.
Test staff workload, sustained use, school pricing and pilot commitments. No validated revenue or retention data yet.
A SCHOOL-LED BUSINESS MODEL
School and multi-academy trust subscriptions are the primary proposed revenue stream, tiered by school or cohort size. Pricing will be tested with buyers.
Family learning modules and coached Practical Mastery intensives are later revenue options. Access to school-assigned support should not depend on a family buying an extra subscription.
Profiles, pre-practical packs, in-lab supports, staff training and progress portfolios.
Optional modules and practical-to-paper learning aligned with school expectations.
Structured practical sessions and guided write-ups, subject to delivery validation.
THE DEVELOPMENT ROADMAP
The initial MVP target is 3–6 months from securing resources and a partner school. Later stages depend on evidence, capacity and adoption.
Six KS3/GCSE practicals, a basic learner profile, 360° preparation, in-lab scaffolds and a simple portfolio.
Milestone: school partner agreement, specialist SEND input, data governance and usable materials.
Compare baseline and repeated observations. Review staff workload, completion, independence and work quality with learners and the SENCo.
Milestone: evidence of usability and a credible evaluation of benefit, including where the approach does not help.
Test annual pricing, paid pilots, onboarding effort and renewal intent. Refine the content and training model before expanding across schools or MATs.
Milestone: willingness to pay, repeatable implementation and measured delivery costs.
Explore additional learner needs, wider STEM content, optional VR/AR, home-learning modules and Practical Mastery intensives.
Milestone: specialist co-design and evidence for each extension. Immersion and automation must earn their place through learning value.
AN ILLUSTRATIVE COMMERCIAL MODEL
Use the controls to explore annual school subscription revenue. This is a scenario tool—not a forecast, quotation, market valuation or evidence of demand.
Revenue shown excludes delivery costs, tax, discounts, churn and other revenue streams. Actual pricing and customer acquisition remain to be validated.

WHY NOW, WHY THIS FOUNDER
The founder brings UK secondary science teaching, physics training and research into dyslexia support. The next capability gaps are specialist SEND assessment, product engineering and evaluation.
